Bio

Pamela L. Peck was born and grew up in Southern California. In 1972 she moved to Northern California, attended Sierra College, CSU Sacramento and UC Davis where she received her MFA in 1979, primarily working in ceramics and sculpture.

In 1983, along with other artists and UC Davis graduates, she co-leased and developed a building of artists’ studios in Rodeo, California, which continues to date with a slowly changing roster of artists. In 1998 Pam and her partner, Jim Feroe, designed and built her current studio adjacent to their home in Rodeo.

They also own a home/vacation rental in Dunsmuir, CA near the banks of the Upper Sacramento River where they may often be found roaming the waters.

Pam has taught ceramics, drawing and sculpture courses at colleges in California including: American River College, 1981; Cuesta College, 1982-83; CSU East Bay, 1997-99; and courses to inmates at the California Medical Facility, Vacaville 1985-90.

Since 2003 she has been an Adjunct Professor at Dominican University of CA in San Rafael, primarily teaching ceramics and developing the ceramics facility. Concurrently, she has been teaching ceramics courses at Solano Community College in Fairfield, CA, 2001-16.

Having a life-long interest in ceramic processes and other materials, Pam has explored and experimented with form and surface in an ongoing effort to merge her passion for aquatic environs and thoughts about human intervention with her desire to invent and produce engaging sculptural works. Her ceramic and mixed media sculptures as well as functional objects have been shown regionally at community colleges, universities and galleries.
